With protest this is El's blog post:
When we arrived in Asia it was extremely shocking :)
My favorite memories in South East Asia were:
-markets (not the food markets because they always smell like fish but the clothes and accessories)
-riding and bathing elephants in Thailand
-the movie theatre in Bangkok
-watching people get stuck in traffic on their motorcycles in Vietnam
-wearing a cone straw hat in Vietnam
-helping at the animal rescue shelter ( walking the dogs) in Thailand
-seeing all the power line clusters in Vietnam
-walking through the dirty but cute alleys
-seeing all the architecture and designs of the temples...but there is too many
-beautiful beaches in Vietnam and Thailand
-riding the trains ( not the one that had pee on our mattress)
-making spring rolls in Vietnam
-Disneyland in Hong Kong
-seeing all the Monks in their orange robes
-riding tuk tuks in Cambodia
-watching my mom freak out when the monkeys came towards us when we were on our motorbike everywhere!
-my biggest memory which will be coming home with me is my Thai tattoo (scar on my leg from a motorcycle burn).
Like I was saying I like the clothes and the accessories and things like that at the markets but what makes it even more fun is bartering. I guess it means two things to me 1.you get your items at lower price.and 2 practice your bidding.
In Vietnam my lack of personal space got annoying so now I sort of know what a princess feels like. But now since we left Asia I'm missing all the attention that I got when I was there.
Just when we thought we had every thing figured out we thought for a minute are we supposed to be doing anything special to the Monks, like shaking hands or bowing to them? And we still don't know.
I can't say how Hong Kong was because it's just like New York but I still don't know what New York is like. Any ways if I had to choose New York or Hong Kong I would still choose New York.
Alright alright what I'm trying to say is Asia was a great experience :).

Elyssa~ Great job on your blog post! I love that you loved the bartering and the accessories..spoken like a true 10 yr old girl. I am sure that it is hard to leave the land, of you being a celebrity, with your beautiful blonde hair, but all good things must come to an end ;) Enjoy Africa; I can't wait to hear about your safari adventures!
