Hola from beautiful Peru. We arrived safe and sound on Monday night in Lima at around 11pm and after we made it through the airport we nestled into the airport hotel at around 1am with a 7am rise for our quick one hour flight to Cusco (funny though we met Geoff Courtnall at breakfast and he gave the kid's signed Vancouver Canuck pictures). We have settled into a quaint little hostel/hotel called Ninos that has quite a story of serving the homeless kids in the area (www.ninoshotel.com). Cusco is the main area of Inca heritage and is very easy and safe to walk around, the kids love that there are dogs and llamas everywhere. We have toured ruins both on foot by ourselves to Saksayhuaman (the kids pronounce it sexy woman) and a tour of the Sacred Valley to Pisac and Ollytaytomba which all four of us found very educational all for different reasons.
Cusco is definitely not beach weather and you must wear a coat and pants since it is very cool in evening and rains a lot this time of year--but it beats home!! The food is very good, reasonably priced and one or two of us may get brave and try their delicacy, Guinea Pig.
We are looking forward to our hike to Machu Picchu starting Sunday for four days. However, we discovered we needed to get the kids toques and we must buy good rain ponchos.
Bye for now and we will talk when we get back from the trek.

Great pic, glad you made it safely. Can't wait to hear about the hike. Love ya, Kel
Love that a bunch of Canadians just left -30 behind and had to buy touques in Peru!
I know I have mentioned it before, but I'M REALLY EXCITED to hear all your stories. Have fun (and relax Jeff)! -Shari
Great picture. Glad I don't have to climb those hills! Have a fun hike. Mom C
Hey Easton,
It's Payton here, we won our hockey game today 6 to 2 against Medicine Hat. How are you doing?
Sound like your adventure started immediately. Great pic of the kids. I hope they are smiling like this with each other come June . The Lowers are missing you all very much and look forward to hearing about your adventures and mishaps...with Jeff we know there is bound to be some of those. Take Care of each other and we will continue to follow along.
ps-Jared really wants to know if Easton ate guinea pig on Friday? Plus he can facetime Jared on his mom's school email while Dan is in Florida.
BE SAFE!
